GTA VI cars have fuel, engine health and possible trackers, Edge reports

Fuel gauges, engine condition and vehicle trackers could change how players plan GTA VI getaways.

Vehicle choice may carry new consequences in GTA VI. Edge's hands-on preview reports fuel, engine-condition readouts and theft-related tracking.

Fuel and engine condition

According to Edge's October 29 visit to Rockstar North, GTA VI vehicles display a fuel level and engine-health readout. The demonstration suggests that fuel lasts long enough for regular journeys and can be replenished without a lengthy detour. That is preview reporting, not a measurement of consumption or damage in a retail copy.

A getaway car isn't always anonymous

Some expensive vehicles may contain trackers, the magazine reports. A theft can also generate a report from the owner. Finding a fast car therefore may not be the same thing as finding a discreet escape route; planning, vehicle condition and the identity information available to police could intersect.

Where your weapons go

The preview also describes access to stored weapons through a vehicle's boot and a phone-based vehicle delivery service. These details suggest a greater role for choosing a vehicle before a robbery. No third-party car packs, fuel mods or GTA VI PC tools are implied by this preview, and none are offered for download here.
